Tessa Dolce - Woodwinds
Tessa Dolce is a freelance Multiple Woodwind Specialist based in the New York metropolitan area. Tessa received her MA degree in Multiple Woodwinds from Montclair State University where she was orchestra manager for Broadway conductor/arranger, Greg Dlugos, and performed with Meg Zervoulis (The Prom). A student of Chad Smith and Harry Searing, Tessa has been a member of the orchestra for the New Jersey State Theater’s Joseph and Spring Lake Theater’s production of The Producers. While at MSU, Tessa played in the orchestras for West Side Story, Carousel, Three Penny Opera, The Producers, Anything Goes, 42nd Street, and Kiss of the Spider Women. In 2018 Tessa played the world premiere of Cy Coleman’s Pamela’s First Musical with music supervision by Kevin Stites, arranged by Charlie Rosen, and conducted by Greg Dlugos. Most rrecently, Tessa was a member of the pit orchestra for the world preimer of Joe Iconis’s (Be More Chill) Love in Hate Nation, orchestrated and arranged by Charlie Rosen and conducted by Annastasia Victory (Once on this Island). Studio experience includes the music for the award nominated short movie, Denial.
Martha Hyde - Woodwinds
Martha Hyde is a veteran of over 60 Broadway productions both as a substitute and as a regular. She can also be seen in the pit for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, she has played in numerous Off-Broadway and regional productions and she has recorded several cast albums. In concert she has appeared with such luminaries as Sandy Duncan, Kathleen Turner, Andre de Shields, Kenny Loggins, Carmen McRae and Dizzy Gillespie. Before becoming involved in musical theater, Martha performed with local rock, Latin and Haitian dance bands, finding herself in venues as varied as St. John the Divine, CBGB and the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage as well as tours on four continents.
Martha maintains an active studio of private woodwind students and also teaches woodwinds at Léman Preparatory School. As a composer, she writes for her students as well as for her own ensembles and the New River Ensemble, of which she is a founding member. She has a library of original music for young jazz bands and wind ensembles as well as a trove of original music that straddles the rural and urban cultures she’s lived in.
Chris MacDonnell - Woodwinds
Christine MacDonnell, graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Christine received her Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from The Juilliard School. New York performances include Radio City Music Hall, Paper Mill Playhouse, Albany Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Northeast Philharmonic Orchestra, and others. National performances include the Walnut Theatre and The Philly Pops in Philadelphia, John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, Georgia State University, and Atlanta’s Fox Theatre. Christine has performed and lectured locally and performed abroad as principal clarinet in the Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira in Brazil and the Nova Philharmonia Portuguesa in Portugal. Just recently she was a featured clarinet artist in the V Festival International de Sopros in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has served two US Presidents in the “President’s Own” Marine Band. Christine has toured nationally with productions such as Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Falsettos. A popular freelance musician in NYC, and Broadway regular on shows such as Aladdin, Phantom of the Opera, and The Lion King, she also plays with numerous chamber ensembles, accompanying artists such as Bernadette Peters, Florence Henderson, Aretha Franklin, and Frank Sinatra, Jr. Currently she serves as a woodwind instructor at the United Nations International School, as well conducting master classes at various universities within the United States. She has been interviewed and featured on WPFW, Jazz and Justice Radio in Washington, DC, and on Clarinet Corner, Troy University Public Radio. Her two classical CDs, “Enchanted Saint Saens” and “Clarinet Rhapsody” have been hailed as “beautifully played and well-deserved of its title”. Her latest recording, “Chris’ Journey, A Whimsical Collage of Music”, is a piece specifically written for her. It is very unique in that one artist, Christine MacDonnell, is performing all 11 woodwinds depicting various styles. All three recordings are available online at cdbaby.com. Setsuko Otake, Oboe
Oboist Setsuko Otake enjoys a diverse career as a chamber musician, orchestral performer, and teacher. As a soloist, she has performed with the New York Symphonic Ensemble on a tour of Japan and Southeast Asia, and gave the premier performance of Yoshihiro Kanno’s Water Leaf 4 for oboe and chamber orchestra with the North/ South Consonance.
Throughout the U.S. and Japan, Setsuko has presented chamber music recitals with various woodwind quintet and trio groups-including a 2002 recital debut at Carnegie Weil Recital Hall. She currently holds the second oboe/English Horn position with the Riverside Symphonia in Lambertville, New Jersey, and as a freelance oboist, has regularly appeared with number of Broadway shows, including Miss Saigon, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, On the Town, Les Miserables, Porgy and Bess, Ragtime, and Mary Poppins. Most recently she was an oboist for The Public Theater production of Soft Power.
She received her bachelor’s degree from the Toho Gakuen School of Music, and her master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with former New York Philharmonic oboist Joseph Robinson. During the summer, she is an oboe and chamber music coach at the Summerkeys, adult music camp in Lubec, Maine. Ms. Otake is also the oboe instructor at the Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, and Rodeph Sholom School in Upper West Side, Manhattan.
Julie Pacheco - Woodwinds
Julie Pacheco is a NYC area woodwind doubler and teacher. She has played flute, clarinet, saxophone and oboe for numerous Broadway shows and can currently be heard playing in West Side Story. Julie has maintained a private teaching studio for over 20 years and also currently teaches woodwinds at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Julie holds a master’s degree in Performance from New Jersey City University where she studied in the Multiple Woodwinds program, and a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College where she studied clarinet.
Micheale Ryan - Woodwinds
Micheale Ryan received her master’s degree in Woodwind Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, and her bachelor’s degree from Boston University. After being cast in the off-Broadway musical, Swingtime Canteen she relocated to New York City. She has also been seen on stage in productions of The Buddy Holly Story, Cabaret and Urinetown. Micheale’s career includes performances with; Sarasota Opera, Spoleto Festival, NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Masterworks Chorale, Bronx Concert Singers, Pittsburgh Ballet, DiCapo Opera, Garden State Opera, Verismo Opera, Florida Orchestra, and the Naples Philharmonic. She also performs with the chamber ensemble “Metamorphic Winds” and the “Bard and Minstrel Storytellers”. She stays active in the theater world by substituting in various Broadway pit orchestras, including the The Lion King and Wicked. Micheale can also be heard performing with clarinetist, Richard Stoltzman, on his recording “Aria”.
Matthew Beaumont, Percussion
Matthew Beaumont enjoys a versatile career as a freelancer in the NYC area. As a classical musician, he performs regularly with the New Jersey Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra, Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, Albany Symphony, and Harrisburg Symphony. He has also appeared with the Houston Symphony, Detroit Symphony, New York City Opera, New York City Ballet and San Diego Symphony. In 2018, he joined the percussion section of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Matt has been a member of the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular Orchestra and Spring Spectacular Orchestra for four seasons since 2014. As a commercial musician, he has also performed with Andrea Bocelli, Danny Elfman, Paquito D'Rivera, Branford Marsalis, Natalie Merchant, and Pink Martini.
As an educator, he has coached students at the Laguardia High School for the Performing Arts, the Calhoun School, the Bard College Conservatory of Music, and the Greater Newark Youth Orchestra. He has also presented masterclasses at the Percussive Arts Society Internation Convention and the NYU Broadway Seminar. Matthew contracted musicians for the Bard Conductors Institute Orchestra for 16 years and has been the orchestra contractor at Hunter College in NYC for the past seven years.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Music from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, where he studied with Jonathan Haas and Robert Van Sice. He continued his musical studies with Alan Abel at Temple University, where he received his Masters in Music degree.
When he's not playing music, Matthew also owns a small web development business. He lives in NJ with his wife, Megan and two sons, Patrick and Kyle. In his spare time, he enjoys baking, woodworking, and attempting to prevent his sons from tearing down the house.
Tomina Parvanova, Harp
Based in New York City, harpist Tomina Parvanova is one of the most in demand artists in her field. She has performed with a myriad of major orchestras and ensembles, including Boston Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, Boston Ballet, and Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ms. Parvanova has served as principal harpist for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Orchestra for three seasons. On/Off Broadway she has performed for Soft Power, We’re Only Alive For A Short Amount Of Time, Carousel, Hello Dolly, and The Fantasticks.
In 2011 Ms. Parvanova was a harp fellow at the prestigious Tanglewood Music Center where she performed under the baton of world- renowned conductors, such as Jaap van Zweden, Kurt Masur, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, and worked closely with Pulitzer Prize winning composer Charles Wourinen. Under a full tuition scholarship, Ms. Parvanova received her Masters Degree from Boston University, College of Fine Arts, and Bachelors Degree from The Boston Conservatory.
